Research and Consultancy Services
At SARRC, great investment has been made in collecting and preserving archival source materials, equipment and technology to facilitate high quality research and consultancy. In addition, we provide comprehensive and valuable research services to organisations, including consultancy, training, testing, advice and directly commissioned research.
As a leading centre for qualitative and quantitative research on social issues, SARRC has acquired an international reputation for the high quality. We carry out research into all areas of social policy, including health, educational reform, livelihood, displacement, conflict and gender.
Many of our studies combine quantitative and qualitative approaches. We are at the leading edge of developing qualitative research. Our primary methods are in-depth interviews and focus group, but we adapt these methods to the specific demands of each research project. We also conduct quantitative surveys using random probability sampling. Most surveys are carried out using face-to-face methods, but SARRC also conducts telephone and postal surveys.
